The restriction orders on two previous closed sessions have been lifted.

On Wednesday 31 October 2018 the Metropolitan Police Service made an application for a restriction order, as reported in the previous Inquiry update.

The application was taken forward by the Crown Prosecution Service at a closed session (subject to reporting restrictions) on Friday 2 November, which was attended by legal representatives for the bereaved, survivors and residents and also legal representatives for the media. The application was rejected by the Chairman, but the restriction order on the application and proceedings remained in place until the conclusion of the criminal trial in question.  The defendant in the criminal trial pleaded guilty on Monday 5 November and the Chairman has now lifted the restriction order.

The related directions, orders and rulings are included below and videos and transcripts for Wednesday 31 October and Friday 2 November and have been added to the hearings page.
